Katja Bullock, 1st Vice Chairman

She was the Operations Officer in the Office of Presidential Personnel, responsible for all non-career appointments at the Office of Personnel Management, the General Services Administration, Federal Labor Relations Authority, Merit System Protection Board and the Government Printing Office. Katja directed the Correspondence Unit, the Resume Management Group, as well as the clearance and nominating process of all presidential appointments in the Federal Government.
After a 3 months detail to the Transition team of Governor Ehrlich in Maryland in 2002, Katja was detailed to Iraq as Director of Civilian Personnel to help set up the Coalition Provisional Authority government in Iraq and returned later to prepare for the turn over of the government to the Iraqi people.
During the Clinton Administration, Katja returned to the Private Sector as a Search Executive with Trawick Consultants, specializing in recruiting telecommunications personnel. From 1995 to 2000 Katja was the Office Manager for United States Senator Spencer Abraham from Michigan.
Katja was born and raised in Germany and holds a pharmacy degree from the University of Erlangen, Germany.
In her free time she has been active in Maryland Politics for over thirty years.
After School Board campaigns in the 70’s, Katja worked on the national campaigns for Presidents Reagan in 80 and 84, Bush in 88, 92, 2000 and 2004. Most recently, she was the Montgomery County Coordinator for the Romney Campaign and served on his transition team.
On the state level her campaign experience culminated in the win of Governor Ehrlich in 2002 after having worked on both Sauerbrey Campaigns. She was a member of Governor Ehrlich’s transition team. In 2010, Katja was the Montgomery County Coordinator for Governor Ehrlich’s Campaign.
Katja was elected from the 18th Legislative District in Montgomery County to serve as a Member of the Montgomery County Republican Central Committee. She was an elected Bush Delegate from the 18th Congressional District to the National Republican Convention in 2004.
Currently, she serves as Vice Chairman of the County GOP; on the Board of the Chevy Chase Women’s Republican Club. Previously, she had been the County Organization Chair for two years and the County Precinct Coordinator for 6 years.
